With autumn setting in, we like to revisit our classics and the must-have is the apples! Dressed in my most autumnal outfit, I went to visit the Verger Victoria and so many surprises! When the experience is not faabout to pick apples, butto learn more about their varieties. The owners, Diane and Dominic, offer a guided tour of their Verger of apple and pear. In order not to tell you too much, you won’t find your apples classics, but many kinds that you probably don’t know. Don’t miss the chance to discover these local products.
So on the weekends of the season, from noon to 6pm, you can visit and buy your favorite fruits. The welcoming atmosphere, the beauty of the landscape and the taste of the fruits will know how to amaze. You don’t want to cook? 180 ml (3/4 cup) apple, peeled, cored and diced (about 1 medium apple)
10 ml (2 tsp.) brown sugar
30 ml (2 tablespoons) quick-cooking rolled oats
15 ml (1 tablespoon) brown sugar
15 ml (1 tablespoon) unbleached all-purpose flour
15 ml (1 tablespoon) butter, softened
- In a cup, mix the apple and brown sugar.
- In a small bowl, place the oats, brown sugar and flour.
- Add the butter and mix with your fingertips until the texture is lumpy.
- Place this mixture on the apple.
- Microwave for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until juice is bubbling. Watch out, it’s hot!
- Let cool at least 5 minutes before serving.
